What is a Bookmark?

When you find a Web site that you think you will want to return to on a regular basis (like "Focus On Taylor County"), you may find it handy to create a "bookmark" in your browser software. Once a bookmark is set, instead of having to type in the entire Web site address, you can simply click on the bookmark tab you’ve created.

These short cuts are referred to as "bookmarks" in Netscape browsers and as "favorites" in Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.

The method for creating bookmarks is as follows:

  1. Go to the Web site for which you want to create the shortcut.
  2. Click on Bookmarks (in Netscape) or Favorites (in Internet Explorer)
  3. Click on Add Bookmark (or Favorite)

That’s it. Now the next time you want to visit that page, simply click on Bookmarks (or Favorites) and select the shortcut you’ve just created from the list that pops up.
